nyMusikk

nyMusikk is Norway’s centre for contemporary music.

Contemporary music, or experimental music / art music, can refer to ensemble music, electronic music, sound art, noise, improvisation and musical theatre among many things.

Our organization was founded in 1938 as the Norwegian section of ISCM, International Society for Contemporary Music.

nyMusikk’s main purpose was, and still is:

To promote the radical, experimental and genre-crossing music throughout Norway.

This is accomplished through live music, screenings, installations, artist conversations, performances and lectures etc.
